DMLMHS Abouts

The Doña Montserrat Lopez Memorial High School is a public secondary school in Silay City, Negros Occidental. Located along the National Highway in the heart of the city and it stands on a 4-hectare lot donated by one of the prominent and generous family in Silay City the Lopez Family.
 
    Doña Montserrat Lopez Memorial High School is home to different curricula namely the Basic Education curriculum (BEC), Special Program in the Arts (SPA), Information and Communication Technology, Strengthened Technical vocational Education Program (STVEP) considered as one of the best Technical-Vocational Schools nationwide and Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Each curriculum has its own uniform that gives a unique identity and pride to its students.
 
    At present, the school models the Grades 11 and 12 of the K to 12 Program, one of the model schools in the country and the only public secondary school in Region 6 accredited by PASBE ( Philippine Accreditation System in Basic Education). 

 

HISTORY OF DMLMHS

Doña Montserrat Lopez Memorial High School, also known for the acronym DMLMHS, is a public national high school located in Rizal St., Silay City, Negros Occidental.

It began as a city high school during the incumbency of then-Mayor Natalio G. Velez during the late 1968-1986. At that time, the school was previously located near the Silay South Elementary School.It was envisioned to accommodate poor but deserving elementary school graduates and consequently offered free tuition.Previously known as Silay City National High School, the school was renamed in honor of the affluent Lopez family who donated a parcel of land for the new school edifice.

  • October 27: Distribution of Report Cards PTA Meeting
  • October 29: Resumption of Classes
