The Doña Montserrat Lopez Memorial High School envisions to produce graduates who are responsible, committed honest and self-reliant.
To provide the society with graduates who can do ordinary things extraordinarily and who can contribute to nation-building
We dream of Filipinos
who passionately love their country
and whose values and competencies
enable them to realize their full potential
and contribute meaningfully to building the nation.
As a learner-centered public institution,
the Department of Education
continuously improves itself
to better serve its stakeholders.
To protect and promote the right of every Filipino to quality, equitable, culture-based, and complete basic education where:
– Students learn in a child-friendly, gender-sensitive, safe, and motivating environment
– Teachers facilitate learning and constantly nurture every learner
– Administrators and staff, as stewards of the institution, ensure an enabling and supportive environment for effective learning to happen
– Family, community, and other stakeholders are actively engaged and share responsibility for developing life-long learners
Doña Montserrat Lopez Memorial High School, also known for the acronym DMLMHS, is a public national high school located in Rizal St., Silay City, Negros Occidental.
It began as a city high school during the incumbency of then-Mayor Natalio G. Velez during the late 1968-1986. At that time, the school was previously located near the Silay South Elementary School. It was envisioned to accommodate poor but deserving elementary school graduates and consequently offered free tuition.Previously known as Silay City National High School, the school was renamed in honor of the affluent Lopez family who donated a parcel of land for the new school edifice.
